Wireless Ypsi At The Brewers’ Beer Fest
We were invited as guests for the Michigan Brewers Beer Fest held in Ypsilanti this weekend. We were quite honored until they asked I we could bring along our Wireless Ypsi radios. This was sort like in college with the guy that owned a pick-up truck. He was always your best buddy when you needed to move.
But heck, we didn’t mind. Free beer and Free Internet, could it get any better? We don’t think so.
Over 50 different people used the connection in Riverside Park over two days. Making it one of the busiest nodes on the Wireless Ypsi Network. It handled it without a hitch. Cheers!

Wireless Ypsi Saves Elvisfest
That is what one volunteer told us this afternoon. We got a portion of Riverside Park on Wireless Ypsi on Friday and told Michigan Elvis Fest organizers they had Internet access in the park.
Event organizers immediately jumped on the network throughout the evening and next morning monitoring the weather and communicating with other volunteers and organizers. When weather turned bad on Saturday, they turned to Wireless Ypsi to access the Internet and get the latest weather updates and real-time maps. They could see the storm was passing to the south so event organizers kept the show going.
“If we didn’t have Wireless Ypsi, we would have had to cancel Elvis Fest because of concerns over weather,” said one volunteer.
Later that afternoon, with the humidity way up, the network started having problems. Water can be a problem with WiFi networks. Elvis Fest called us and, before you could call a Hound Dog, we jumped in the truck and headed over to the park. In less than an hour volunteers helped us setup a second radio radio boosting the signal and covering a larger portion of the park.
While the real heroes are all the volunteers that make Elvis Fest so great, we were glad to do our small part in helping to keep the show running. Here is to the King.
